Vidaview Life Story Board™ is a  versatile visual  tool that enables diverse modes of expression, sharing, and reflection. This workshop is for:

  • counsellors, therapists, social work practitioners, mental health professions;
  • qualitative  researchers and grad students as visual elicitation tool for   narrative, in social science applications
  •  personal, group and community settings

The workshop offers introduction and basic training  in the Life Story  Board methods, in an engaging mix of presentation, discussion, demonstration, and hands-on practice.

The workshop team is led by  Rob Chase MD,  developer of LSB methods, with Javier Mignone PhD, Dept. of Community Health Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Manitoba

Rob developed  Life Story Board methods since the 1990s into a robust, versatile tool for research, assessment and therapy applications. He has delivered   training workshops and presentations in Canada, Australia,  Sri Lanka and Bhutan, with several publications in peer-renewed journals.  

Workshop Schedule

9:00 -12:00   presentation, orientation,

  • Introduce the Life Story Board approach
  • Describe story-boarding for assessment, counselling, and research interviews; discuss diverse applications
  • Basic orientation to LSB Toolkit
  • Demonstration

12-1:00 lunch break

  • 1:00-4:00: Afternoon is small group, hands on, experiential  practice.
  • Q and A, discussion

Hosted by  MFL Occupational Health Centre (Suite 102) tel: 204-949-0811.  Coffee, tea will be provided.  The OHC has a kitchenette, you’re welcome to bring your own lunch. Good restaurants are nearby. 

Winnipeg Transit: Union Station is a 3 minute walk  (3 short blocks)   

Car Parking: we suggest the lot across  Smith St on the left side is $15 for the day.
